Tractor of The Week

The tractor for this week is Corgi Junior's Zetor 5511.

The Zetor 5511 tractor was built in Czechoslovakia. It features a 55 horsepower engine.

Zetor is a Czech tractor manufacturer in Brno-Líšeň, the Czech Republic, now owned by Slovak Company HTC HOLDING Slovensko. Originally, the Zbrojovka Brno company, an auto manufacturer, Zetor first completed building prototype tractors in November 1945.

The name Zetor originates from the name of the first letter of the company name Zbrojovka (Zet) and last two letters of the word tractor (or).

This particular Zetor according to Tractordata.com, was produced between 1968 and 1972. A 4 cylinder diesel produced in the 55-60 hp range depending on the sources I viewed.

I received this Corgi model as a raok in June of 2010 from none other than Swifty! Swifty said it was based on an actual model and it wasn't until I actually did research on the company that I found out it existed.

Thanks for the raok Swifty.
